I have a show that's already in mp3 format but needs to be tracked out. Can anyone recommend a program like CDwave, but for mp3?

convert to wave and use any wave editor, like Goldwave.  Then re-convert.

You can go to WAV file.  The downside is that you will be re-encoding an MP3 file.  That is never pretty.  It always degrades the quality of the MP3 file.  There is one editor which can manipulate the MP3 file in its native format, however, MP3Trim.

You will find it all over the internet, but this link works:  http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/MP3Trim_win32/

I tried that and you have to use the pay version for long files I think.

mp3directcut is my tool of choice for this - I mainly using it for chopping mp2 files from DVB-T transport streams, but it does the same for mp3s.  I know a lot of people who chop mp2s on Dime use this as well.

Its freeware and is a small download.
