Is this easy to use and does the quality of the recordings turn out good?

It is the best of the pre-mdlp generation from Sony. Much more solid than the 70 and way better designed than the 700 and 900 which followed soon after.

If you buy one, make sure you get the external battery compartment with it, as the internal will be toast by now, and they are expensive to replace.
