Post by: one8ung on July 25, 2019, 02:44:12 AM
Maybe a stupid question but can i replace 2 DPA microdot connectors for 1 3,5mm jack?

To clarify... I want to power 2 DPA microphones with a microdot connector with a Church Audio Ugly Battery Box.

Is this possible?

Absolutely it can be done.   Cut off the microdots and solder to a 3.5mm jack and you are good to go.

1/8" or 3.5mm jacks are TRS - Tip/Ring/Sleeve - The ground wires go together and connect to the sleeve, the inner cable from the right mic becomes your Ring and the inner cable from the left mic becomes your Tip.   Heatshrink keeps it together.  You might not want to do it yourself as those DPA wires are incredibly delicate and a real pain to strip cleanly and solder....but it can be done!

DPA can probably do this for you, if you want. I just had a 4061 w/ TA4F reterminated to microdot.
