Batts

Chargers

I think they have some batt/charger combos too. That might save a little more $$

HUGE +T bud, the charger is half of what i wouldve paid, and the 3000mah batts are about 7 bux cheaper since i'll prolly buy about 5 at least of em ;D
thanks bud ;D

hmmm, theres great deals on there for 7.2v 3000mah batts + charger for 50 bux, thats pretty good IMO, i guess it really doesnt matter wether i go 7.2v or 9.6v, maybe i will go 7.2v, it will be closer to the outyput voltages and cause less heat problems possibly too :)

Bean, if you haven't jumped on those 9.6v RC batteries yet, you might want to make your way to ebay. Do a search on "portable dvd battery" or "battery (memorex, esa)". There are a number of vendors selling open package lithium ion batteries that are much like the famed Walmart batteries, but are 7.2v 5400ma-hr. (Branded as either memorex or esa.) If you look around, you should be able to get them for $30 shipped or less. These are nice and small and light, and come with integrated battery charging technology, all you need to do to charge them is to plug them in with the supplied AC wallwart.
I've gotten two of these from two different ebay sellers. They work great with the V3 and should last for 5-6 hours each. I haven't run them that long, but I've run them for about 4 1/2 hours with no problems. At 5400mA-hrs, these have a lot more capacity than the RC batteries you're looking at and cost about the same. Definitely a power option to look into.

thanks todd, that does sound very intriguing
i need to build some diff size batts packs actually, so those sound great for local shows only need 3-4 hrs of battery
for festies tho, everything is gonna be powered via non sla batts, and the v3/jb3 fed off of the same battery pack, a couple of 12,000mah packs should do well :)

i got my 7.2v 3300mah packs of ebay. ~$40 for 4 and dual head peak charger from towerhobbies.com ~$60 w/ coupon (2 batts charge to full in like 30-40 mins) [charges @ 3.5 amp] next project is to get the JB3 runnin off these. still lugging my SLA to power it but it gives me backup power for the UA5, used it once when i busted my rc powercable.
looks like you can get 4 7.2v 3200mah packs from ebay for 50.99

thats awesome, i think i know what im gonna do
i'm gonna buy the charger + 2 7.2v 3000mah batts here:
http://batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=360
and get those 4 for 40 dollar deals on ebay :)

Im thinking of checking one of these out.
http://batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=919&HS=1
I know, its a bit spendy But its weights nothing and will work with alomst every Piece of gear you can throw at it.
Including the Jb3, Notice it does a true 5v .
No hacking/soldering needed plug and play so to speak. Just test your tip +/- and your off and running

looks nice but also looks too big
i think im gonna power everything w/ 7.2v NIMH rc batts
wire some in parallel to power the jb3+v3 for about 10 hrs or so at a time :)
-
how are you running the Jb3 from 7.2v
-
im not yet, there is a solution out there, just give it a lil time :)

don't think their prices can compete. the race cells are much better but mainly at high draw. for our purposes i think the ebay packs will suffice at 1/3 the price. wouldn't race with them but would be good practice batts for screwing around.
