Is there any option for inline 12v DC to 7.4v DC?

I'm trying to find new solutions for powering some of my gear (no duh). What options are there for using something like a 12v Talentcell to power 7.4v needs? I know it requires a regulator / step down option. My research finds various circuit board type or products. This is less than ideal. Is there anything a little more off-the-shelf ready?

What audio gear needs 7.4V that wouldn't also accept 12v?

I think I'd just buy a 7.4V li-ion battery (or two) and dedicate it to the specific gear that you need 7.4V for and, if necessary, replace the connector with whatever you need.  It's bound to be cheaper than finding something that steps down 12V to 7.4V. 

You might try to find a refurbished or still working Tekkeon 3300 or 3400.  I'm not aware of currently available batteries like the old Tekkeon's or Naztech's that allow you to set the output voltage to whatever you need.

In this case I'm looking at a camera with a dummy battery (7.2V–8.4V range). Even if the dummy battery can bring it down to this range, which I'm not sure it can, it would generate heat and that can stop a recording. I've also totally fried equipment being careless with too much voltage. Trying to not repeat that. Aiming to power a field monitor/recorder and camera for over 3hrs. I have ways to do this for up to 2hrs but I'm just considering options that use equipment I already have. Partially because I need solutions for multiple setups.

Does your Talentcell include 12V, 9V and 5V(USB) ports?  If so, measure the voltage out of the 9V port while under load actually powering something.  Talentcell is unregulated and I suspect that measurement will be within the range you are looking for.  I've never actually measured voltage out of the 9V port, but voltage out of the 12V port ranges from approximately 11V down to 9V or so in actual use (as monitored by the Zoom F8 which displays external battery voltage).

Edit- Highest voltage out of the 9V port will be when the battery is fully charged but no load is attached.  Actually, highest voltage might be while charging (charger attached to the 10V port, battery switched 'on'), but I presume you would not actually be using it in that configuration to power the camara.

This step down will do it.

I used a similar one to drop-down 12v to 9v. Just solder on the correct size barrel connectors and you're good to go.

Unfortunately, no. I currently have three of the 24V, 12V, 5V(USB) models. PB240A1. I also have tons of NP-F, and Canon and Sony batteries. Even my biggest NP-F's will give me a good runtime but still need to be replaced within a couple of hours. Meaning, not going to cut it for 3hr runtime. At some point I may pivot to vmount/d-tap.

can't you just use the old camera batteries we use with the sd 7xx series?
