Hey now,
Wondering what y'all think is the best way to run speaker cable to a set of rears that are on the other side of the room from the rack. Right now, I am contemplating going into the wall, up, across a ceiling joist to the back of the room, and back down the rear wall... Is there a simpler solution that doesn't leave exposed wires?

If your room is carpeted, and depending on your budget, Goertz speaker cable might work for you.

Looks nice and perfect for running under the carpet, but damn it's expensive :o

if you have carpet you can sometimes wedge smaller gauge wire inbetween the carpet and the baseboard w/ a flat-tip screwdriver.

Pull the baseboard and run it behind it around the room, then re-nail baseboard back in place. Not as big a pain as it sounds.

i thought about this, but the room is oddly shaped, and this would be a LONG run.

There's also a Goertz HT (home theater) cable that's 14 gauge and cheaper.

You might also want to consider drilling a hole in the floor and running the wires underneath the floor and up through a hole where you want the run to end. Would be much easier than up in the ceiling and threading the wire down under the sheetrock.

I ran my wires through the floorboards and then drilled through every joist in the basement, I love renting!
