Title: Alternatives to Bryston amps?
Post by: Evil Taper on May 29, 2007, 12:48:05 AM
I'm looking to invest in some VR-1s and an amp shortly.  I wanted to go with a Bryston amp but they're a bit more expensive than I was looking to spend.  Can you guys recommend something that will be almost as flat and accurate but costing a little bit less?  This stuff is going in my home studio so it doesn't have to be capable of insane SPL.  Thanks.

Yeah I'm just gonna invest in the Bryston, can't go wrong with a 20 year warranted amp that sounds fantastic.

I would take a look at the used Odyssey Stratos amps.  One of the best I've heard and very reasonable used prices for the extreme editions.

We'll see what happens when I get the rest of my cash here...but it's definately looking like the 4B is going to be in my studio.
