I looked at one of those before buying the USBPre-2. Two downsides for me were the size and the fact is is only AES output. Other than that I came very close to purchasing one, but finally opted for the SD unit instead.
FWIW, AES out isn't such a big deal. Most equipment with a spdif coax in will accept a signal sent over an xlr> coax cable. Or one can use a barrel plug adaptor. I hear you about the size, though.
