What is my active preset in the MixPre?
« on: March 07, 2021, 06:12:46 AM »
How can I see my active preset on the MixPre 10II?
Since I often switch between different presets, it would be essential to know which preset I am currently in.
I assume the question refers to all MixPre devices.

Great question. Maybe save it as a new one then compare the XML files?
Or maybe the Wingman app could shed light?

Similarly, I'd love to be able to see my input knob level settings without having to adjust them!!!

Sound Devices exists in the quantum universe where one must interact with something in order to observe it.

The knob state on my first MixPre 3 was not only in a quantum state but in a mechanically foggy one as well.
Where the three knobs had to be given different positions to report same dB settings.
One a few minutes before 12 while others almost 12 and the last a couple of min after 12…

Returned and replaced with a 6 which I later sold and got a 6 II for dirt cheap during the lock down.

But back on topic.
The MixPre’s would really benefit from a better information feedback about current states.
