Possible for my computer speakers 24-bit incompatible?
« on: July 10, 2005, 01:16:58 PM »
I have Logitech Z640 Speakers. Decent at the time, but you know how quick technology moves. Anyways, would it be possible that they would not support 24-bit, 96 kHz/192 kHz audio?
I haven't found any evidence for or against their compatibility but I would like to be sure before I upgrade my soundcard and all.  If not , I may have to start my audio-playing system from scratch. (that would suck as I am broke student).
Thanks for any help.

Your speakers should be fine
I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia

Excellent. Thanks for the reply. Now for the soundcard . . .
Watch for a post soon asking for inexpensive 24-bit, 96 kHz (min), 5.1 soundcard when I get too tired of comparing details.

What colors ?

Speakers are usually analogue, and fed from the analogue output of the sound card.
YMMV, I've never seen those speakers.
Mine are self-powered and fed from a pair of RCA cables.

+T for upgrades!
