722 Battery Release???
« on: September 07, 2005, 03:11:08 PM »
Just got my 722 in and have a quick question. Is there a battery release button to disengage the battery from the back of the unit? I see the little pin-like thing that I can depress, but there has to be an easier way, right??? I just can't seem to find an easy release switch...

I've used keys, pens, sunglasses.

Damn! Seems like a release switch would have been easy to manufacture. I guess this will do anyway as long as I don't have to switch batteries quickly...

+T to all. Thanks...

Zee showed me an interesting trick.  Try using a quarter.  It's the perfect width to drop down behind the battery and you don't have to fumble around trying to hit the pin w/ a key.  It's easy to do one handed as well, which isn't the case w/ a key.

and just taping the switch down?
best idea yet?

yea, and the tape kinda acts as a ?ramp? to slide the battery over the annoying pin.  It also provides some RF shielding for their wireless units which have been encountering issues w/ some RF leakage from that area.

finally, a mod that I already have everything for!
Real aluminum duct tape is an amazing product. "Paper cuts from hell" if you aren't careful!

where did you pick that tip up from?

One if the Film forums where a lot of guys are using 744ts, DEVAs, cantars, etc..

I considered taping it down, but then decided against it b/c it worried me a little that it might come loose.
