Title: Tube Mic power for field recording/taping
Post by: BonoBeats on November 21, 2017, 08:46:21 PM
Aside from the Telefunken M260 Field Kit, are there any tube mic boxes that can be powered in the field? Or does anyone on TS build them?

You want this guy ---> http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=143235.0 (http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=143235.0), although I believe the Telefunken boxes were his design. Also, I'm not sure he builds custom boxes anymore.

H₂O built the DC portable battery supply for my Neumann/Gefell m582 tube mics.  I am very pleased with the results of his work!

come to the darkside! i wish my PS had both channels in one box, but it isnt too bad.

unless your an idiot like me and want to run actives with the tubes. I ended up spending what is probably too much cash on stuff i didnt have room for in my bag to begin with. but i like the setup

yah he can make a box for just about any tube mic, and obscure mic that needs different power.  Not tube mics, but he made me a small rechargeable ps for a pair of schoeps cmc3pd's that I have that take a -12v ground positive phantom.

my dream is for one for my u67's which he has been thinking about a design for for some time, they are a tricky mic to power, BUT, if anyone is going to figure it out he will, so email him and see what he can do for you!!!
