Title: AD-20 issues...light and battery
Post by: macroint on October 11, 2004, 08:44:53 PM
The battery light for the AD-20 doesn't go on (it flickers for a second), but it works...so how long does the Energizer 9volt last? If I leave the batteries in the AD-20 and the PS-2, while the NJB3 is plugged into an outlet, are the batteries being used? It's probably a simple question, but I'm a simple man...

i'm pretty sure the batt light only comes on when it's low...
and there is no on/off switch on that sucker so if the battery is in it's turned on.  i've used a duracell for at least all night and then maybe an opener the next night...take it out when not in use....lithium 9v's from radio shack (~$10) will last a lot longer.

the light will flicker when you first put a battery in.
when it comes on it's time to swap batteries.
my experience has been that when the light comes on the feed will start to degrade pretty quickly.
levels will get lower which you can compensate for by raising gain if you can't swap right away.
you can usually swap batteries without losing anything if you are fast.
with plain vanilla energizers or duracells I would get around 5-6 hours.
