Title: SBM1->Sony portable users....?
Post by: Nick Graham on June 15, 2003, 06:44:22 PM
Quick question...when running SBM1->D7/D8/M1, how do you folks position the 2 units? I know it seems like a silly question, but what's the best way to do it without putting to much pressure on the 7-pin cable?

Do you run them next to each other in your bag, set them out with one on top of the other, side by side? Any pics would be extra appreciated...

+T for anyone who can help (now that I know what the tix are for...)

on top of each other works well... get some velcro.

I agree with Tim...on top of each other....and I take two velcro straps and strap it on top and bottom together...

I run them side-by-side in a Samsonite camera bag on my belt for stealth... M1 on the left, SBM-1 on the right, with the 7pin going under both units.

I seen this experienced taper use a camera bag and advised for me to do the same.  Does not fit all his gear, but a little planning can eliminate all the clutter.  I use some Vinyl Electricians bundling tape. I found it in Home Depot and it is 2" wide.   It does not leave any sticky residue on the equipment and, of course, electrical tape for all my connections.  If any residue is left, Alcohol will take it off the outside of most surfaces, just be careful on the inside as any residue can affect sound....

Anyway the taper had his velcro taped together in the stacked config with a lead acid battery on the bottom. ( Battery not velcro'ed)  Looked like a good set-up form what I was saw.
