Title: SD Usbpre2 and New Trent Imp120D....

Hi everyone,

First post here. Thank you all for such a great site.
Kind of a n00b question...
Last week, I got an USBpre2 and this USB power source http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004CHMP50/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004CHMP50/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00). It has two 5v USB outs (2A/1A). Which one should I use with my USBpre2 and why? (2A or 1A out).

Shouldnt matter, the usbpre2 with p48 on for both channels should draw at startup no more than 1amp. I vaguely remember SD saying it averaged 450ma during normal opperation (post-startup)

Yeah...the manual says 500 mA max.

And.... any difference in power consumption between the two USB outs (2A/1A)? Which is going to give me more time of use with the same running conditions? If any....
First time using portable power sources.... thank you again.

I've used this pre with a 5V/1A external AA box, worked great; might as well leave it at 1A.

IMHO the Tekkeons are the way to go w/ the USBPre2 b/c you can power your deck off the "main" power out and the USBPre2 off the USB power out on the Tekkeon.  Still get great run time, and only deal with one battery.

Tekkeons are kind of expensive here in EU...
The New Trent IMP120D is 12000 mAh. Yesterday, I was testing it with my USBpre2. 2ch, 48v on (U87 and a TLM49), 1 o´clock on pres. The New Trent was powering the USBpre2 for 11´5 hours and it still had enough juice for about 3-4 hours.
I am getting a Tascam DR100 mkII... the point is that it can be USB powered too, so the IMP120D is perfect for this couple ;)

Another noobie question... could I use a USB to DC 5v cable to power the DR100 mkii instead of the USB cable? (By using the 5v DC conector on the Tascam and from my USB power source).
