J-Disk for Shure Vert bar
« on: August 26, 2005, 02:35:08 PM »
Has anyone made a J-Disk based around the Shure vert bar?  I use a vert bar with my C4's and 460's with the studio project shockmounts.  I am trying to figure out a way to make a J-Disk based on this setup.  It looks like there could be problems trying to get the mics close enough together and still have them centered with the disc.  Instead of reinventing the wheel, I am just curious if someone else is doing this with a vert bar.  I have only seen t-bars and swivel t-bars used.
Any thoughts?

Thats what I am finding out.  I am just trying to limit the amout of crap I have to carry. Although a flat stereo bar isnt that much cost and size.

the jdisc i am making will use the same post that my DIY vert bar uses (a 6" section of pvc).  i will just add a cap with the necessary hardward on it (basically a short, one inch, piece of metal that is screwed thru the cap and has a small hole drilled in the other end to attach to the hoop).  that way i can still use the at8410 with the jdisc.

yeah for DIY   ;D
