"J-disc for ampfied acoustic instruements"

This weekend I am finally gettin' the chance to record some out door bluegrass (HBRSB) and I want to use my omni's w/ j-disc and was wonderin' if anyone had any suggestions. Such as distance and height I should run my mics. At the HSMF I ran my j-disc for three acts but only one was close to the sound of acoustic bluegrass (Keller & Keel) link below.

I was right behind the left corner of soundboard and had rat skins flyin' to help w/ wind but I still hear a lot of thumpin' from Mrs Keel. I remember the bass was turned up in the mix so I believe this is why the bass is so present but I still worry because the HBRSB bassist (Bryon) really likes to thump and I hope for a good pull this weekend. I have had good luck runnin' cards in DIN w/ HBRSB but still would like to run the j-disk. Link below of me using crads w/ DIN formation.

Thanks for any advise in advance and hope all your pulls rock your face!
Peace

Thats whut Im thought! The great tapers triangle is the spot ( Triangle=stage size x three). As far as the NJB3 goes! I took off the plastic cover(dark blue) to keep my NJB3 cool and so far (knock on wood) it has worked great.
Peace
