Check out this site if you havent already.

yeah i have looked at that site before
it just seems that with my sabra t-bar and the size of my c1000s that i am limited to the # of techniques i can use
would it be possible for me to run a XY with the sabra and c1000s?
my first large show will be dave @ umb bank pavillion - st louis. wont be extremely close but will be dead center or could tape off the delay towers if need be
what does everyone reccomend for that?
-
you can do XY only w/ a riser on one side of yer tbar....sonicsense has risers that act as quick release also...for 9 bucks.....you could take them off in a snap and run pretty much any mic conf..... ;) 8)

thanks bean
did you get my pm from earlier
finally got that show i owe you burnt ;D

I ran xy a few times when i had c1000s.
I had the sabr som shock mounts though. I just turned on upside down and angled them at 90 degrees with the ends directly over each other.
-
nice touch, never though about that ;D 8)

how much of a difference would there be in sound quality with one side of my sabra turned upside down, there would be almost 6" beetween the mics...
would that affect my sound alot, or should i just go buy the riser?
-
I'm not 100% sure I understand your question, but if you are referring to vertical displacement. 6" will not have an audible effect.
-
It never affected mine. I think as long as there are are on vertical plane with the caps aligned they should be ok.
-
I've ran XY with my C1000s & had the mic caps touching each other.... Turn the sabra bar so its going vertically, take one of the mic clips & rotate it 1/6th the way around the bar to the left (its hex shaped) and proceed to get your microphones set up at 90 deg. I don't have my mics with me but I believe that you need to turn the clips so the silk screening is towards the outsides of the Tbar (one facing left the other to the right).
I can prolly dig up some photos I took later tonite if you want.
I'd assume that setting up for DIN would be identical except for where on the mic bodies you attach the clips.
I've also set up my sabra for ORTF...

pics would be great mirth
thanks alot for the info so far guys

ive been runnin c1000's for about 7 months now, and have tried many techniquest with the same equipment, except i have shockmounts, ive like NOS and XY work the best, i have a picture to if you contact me off board.
-
Here's an ORTF setup...
-
another ORTF
-
XY from the front
-
And finally, XY from the top.
-
If I got any of this wrong, someone please let me know!
I'm thinking about trying DIN sometime... with the above picture it should just be a matter of sliding the mic bodies a little further out on the clips.
