New Earthworks Microphones
« on: June 24, 2003, 11:15:48 AM »
From the latest Earthworks email newsletter:

Please read on to learn more about current events, new products and new
deals at Earthworks.

Several exciting new Earthworks products are approaching release.
First up is the QTC30. You can view this in two ways- either it?s a 30kHz
QTC1, or it?s a hotter, quieter TC30K. Physically it is shorter than the
TC30K and QTC1. The QTC30 is more affordable than the QTC1 at $1,600 retail
per pair. The QTC30 is ideal for recording real acoustic instruments, like
classical, jazz or folk, live or in the studio. For a very limited time we
will offer a special introductory price for the QTC30, of $1,200. If you are
interested please call soon.
This is an excellent deal!

Next up is a stereo microphone system made up of a pair of miniature 40kHz
omnis powered from a base unit by batteries. The working nickname is MiniQ.
For stealth recording or any low profile stereo recording, the MiniQs will
make you happy. For miking a piano or a guitar these will sound perfect and
be practically invisible. We will send out an announcement when these are
ready for field trials.

The Sigma 6.2 has received wildly critical acclaim in EQ, MIX, SOS and
Stereophile magazines. You can read these reviews at
http://www.earthworksaudio.com/ns/store_reviews.html The Sigma 6.2 is the
first speaker which sounds more like the music than like a mere loudspeaker.
We are proud to offer the next step in loudspeaker perfection, the Sigma
6.3. This uses the same
tweeter as the Sigma 6.2 with two woofers in an over/ under arrangement. It
sounds very similar to the Sigma 6.2 but with greater max SPL and more
authority to the deep bass. Now is the time for intro deals on the Sigma
6.3. Call for information.

Earthworks website http://www.EarthworksAudio.com has some new offerings
that you may find interesting. You can find Earthworks accessories like
replacement clips, shock mount clips, windscreens and calibrator adapters.
My favorite is the Earthworks Recordists Accessories Package. This includes
a stand/ boom combination that reaches 9 feet, a really cool 3 piece stereo
bar, a dual (2 channel) microphone cable and a gig bag. This is a very
convenient package for anybody who does location recording. In addition to
Specials and Scratch, Dent & Refurbished deals, we also offer Package Deals
on Mics with the Earthworks accessories, and on speakers with stands and
cables. Of course, there is a great deal of information including
reviews and white papers. You can also download literature, manuals and
images. It is worth a visit- www.EarthworksAudio.com.

As always, we really appreciate your support. Please tell your friends
about Earthworks.
If you have any questions please be in touch by email or by phone at
603-654-6427.

Thank you very much from Earthworks,
Eric Blackmer

I heard from a guy earlier this week who has one of the prototypes that the new omni QTC mic is about the size of a 4006. For the price, though, I'd rather get used QTC-1s, though they're bigger.

That MiniQ really gets my interest, though. If they post any pics, please let us know.
Out of the game … for now?
