Title: How about some of these for a V3 - The one for 199.00

http://www.batterygeek.net/. Pricey, but 12-14 hours runtime. :jawdrop:

the question is... why?

I assume you are talking about this one:

BG 9-12-130 Super X-Treme Run Time Portable DVD Player Battery

9V/12V DVD Battery Pack. Most popular for the use with 9V and 12V portable DVD players. 130Wh Capacity = up to 14+ Hours of continious movie time per charge, 9V~12V output. 9V/12V selector switch. Tolerance up to 4.5A.

at 9v output setting, 130Wh = 14.4amp-hours.  I think the V3 pulls around 1 amp max (although I might be off, that's just what I recall), so yeah, in theory that would get you just over 14 hours of runtime.  but it's $200

alternatively, you could get a 6v, 12amp-hour SLA battery for about $15.

solder on a wire and a 4-pin XLR (another few of bucks), and your're good to go for 12 hours (in theory, anyway.  in practice, you never want to totally run SLA batteries down, because it's not good for the battery). and the total cost, including connectors and whatnot, probably under $25.

sure, the L-ion battery is smaller and lighter, but in my mind, it doesn't make up for the huge extra cost :)

Yep, thats the one I was talking about. I don't carry lead anymore. I'm carrying 2 9V 6000 mah at $59 each(was carrying 2 7.2V 5400, but they're dying)and getting roughly 10 hours. Just thought it would be neat carrying one battery and covering a full day of music. Maybe not at that price though ???

yeah, there's certainly something to be said about not carrying lead-acid batteries.  but I think the cost of that L-ion battery far outweighs the benefits.  of course, if it replaces two batteries at $59 each, then the additional cost isn't as much as the additional cost compared to one $15 battery.  if you've got the extra cash, go for it.  or how about something like this:

6V, 13amp-hour, NiMH battery pack - $95 including a charger
could be worthwhile...

My 2 9V's 6000 mah should provide close to the same run time as one of these. I was being conservative at 10 hours. Also it looks like the cable is permanently attached to the battery. Not a good thing for folks who run the V3 upright in the bag and rarely need access to the bottom panel
