yes, that mic would go for $250 or so new, I've heard great recordings made with it, one of the better deals in mics for the price

agreed, Shawn, I am thinking about buying it and just keeping it with a D8 in a camera bag for trips, just in case I need a rig while on the road, honestly I have heard some great recordings with this mic straight into a D8, hard to believe but true

yeah, Scott Frosch tapes around the Indy/Bloomington area running 822 > D8 and he pulls some pretty decent tapes. His tapes convinced me  to start out with an 822. I ran 822> jb3 for a while but I don't think the tapes sounded as good as 822 > D8 stuff does. From what I've read and from the little personal experience I have the pre/adc sections of those two devices are pretty comporable, but I guess the D8's pre/adc must be a better match for the 822.

Yeah, those were big newbie Grateful Dead tapers in the 1990's.
I wonder what elements are in there?

That was my first mic & I used to run it into a MD (forgive Calibos, forgive) @ The Crystal Ballroom in PDX & made some really nice recordings.   Even ran it @ Cuthbert for Phil in 99' & was pleasently surprised.   As long as it works it's a steal for $79.

I (think) I'm going to get it.  I just need to get shipping to a USA address...

I also have an 822 that I no longer use. If anyone is interested, PM me and we'll see what we can work out.  This has been an awesome mic for me and have never had any complaint about the quality of the shows i've made with it.
