Title: DMic-20 question??
Post by: FiKe on May 28, 2003, 08:09:50 PM
Hello
Im new to this board, and relativlt new to taping .I have  GP DMic-20 and Im quite happy with it except one lil thing,I hate the connection from the mic XLR to the DMic 20's XLR, I was wondering if any one else had a dislike for this, and if anyone had changed the connectors to a more secure means like a snap and lock type as on the mics themselves????

i'm sure it could be done, but i couldnt get the box apart the few times i tried it......i didnt want to try to hard and phuck something up.......honestly tho, ive used it hundreds of times the last 4 years and have had NO problems w/ the connections......as long as you check before show/setbreak and make sure the connects are good and in place, you should be fine.......i run my cables in a HUGE old-skool camera bag w/ great results......i will send you a pic this weekend.....but as for your question, i dont know.......i would email someone at GP or give em a call......it would just be a female XLR surface mount.......soundz very theisable...... ;)

i opened my adc-20 to see if i could replace the xlrs w/ some locking, gold plated xlrs... but unfortunately the xlr connectors were soldered to the board and i decided i didn't want to risk messing it up.
