I haven't had an extension pole in a while but IIRC I just used the regular 013 double ended regular length spigot.

There is also a spigot that has a hex flat side on one end that keeps it from rotating on the clamp side. I think it's the 036.

Edit - you found it while I was typing. That's the one.

im about to order a new superclamp and pole for redrocks

does the 035RL work with the pole out of the box or do i need the 036 stud mentioned

https://www.amazon.com/Manfrotto-035RL-Super-Clamp-Standard/dp/B0018LQVIA

will that clamp on the 1.5-2" rail at red rocks. last year i remember one taper had something burlier that looked like a vise

Any issue with taking the 099b as carry-on. I don’t want to deal with checking luggage if I can help it.

I just flew AA and Delta 2 weeks ago with no problem. Had to explain it to TSA but that's it.

SuperClamp will work at Red Rocks. I do have a 4" clamp for other situations, but not necessary in this case.

i did pick up the 099b poles but those are way overkill for me, the 122b is a much better fit imo, will be getting those instead

I found the 099b to be way too much for me to. It’s really like having a full stand without the tripod base. Probably great for some I’m sure. I picked up the Matthews Baby Extension instead.

I have both, but I almost always use the 122b for the same reason. In fact, I am not even sure where the 99b is at the moment.

Actually, I have two 122b's and two SuperClamps for when I want to run spaced omnis. Much easier, and more flexible, than trying to use a long bar on a single clamp and pole. I also have a pair of the 003 bases; coupled with the 122b's they make great low-profile on-stage stands.
