CA 9100 stereo 1/8" into two 1/4" monos?
« on: April 26, 2008, 09:58:25 PM »
What cables/adaptor out there splits an 1/8" inch stereo male into two 1/4" mono males.  I checked Radio Shack and couldn't find anything.  Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure, but I'd guess that you'll have to get that made specially for you.  I'm actually having the same cable made for me by a local taper, but there are at least a couple of good professional cable makers here on TapersSection.  One is DeadHeadEd who owns http://www.kindkables.com/ and the other is Nick's Picks who owns http://www.hydra-audio.com/  Both of them make custom cables, so you'll be able to specify whatever length of cable you'll need.

Hmm, I've got such a cable, made for me a few years ago (special request type deal), but no longer have a need for it. Thinking it's 1 meter long, give or take, has a 1/8" female connector on one end, then 2 male phono plugs on the other end. Works great! Interested?

That is EXACTLY what I am looking for.  So it does exist.  Why is it that these are not more readily available?

I use an 1/8" to male XLR cable, and then adapt the XLR's to 1/4". Actually it's a TRS 1/4", but that doesn't really make a difference. It's unbalanced, and mono either way.

Less adapters and solder points would be ideal though.

Oh but wait.... I just remembered I have an 1/8" to double mono 1/4". Used to use it going from a Samson Mixpad to a minidisc. Hosa makes em. Got it at my local music store. Try Guitar Center if they're near ya.

Or get some quality that will last from someone here on the board (best bet if you don't need it right away).
