SONOSAX SX-M2D2

From serial number 00300 (the old numbers are from 00000 to 00299), the SX-M2D2 provides power for 5V electret microphones. A procedure allows you to configure the device to work at 48V or 5V.
This new possibility cannot be modified on the previous series.

This procedure is made a little tedious on purpose , to minimize the risk of connecting electret microphones with 48V, which would be fatal to them!

We have a great success with this compact device, in very diverse directions, coupled with cameras, classical music recording of very high quality with Smartphone, teleconference, etc.

This device looks incredible. Looking back at older posts, it seems like some people got them just in time for concerts to be shut down. I’d love to hear any updates if anybody has used this in the last few months.

i've got 2 one 0029 and the other 0330 or something like that ( i'm down stairs and units are upstairs right now ) i bought one of the first ones and had to send it back for a hardware
fix that sonosax let us know about . liked it so much that i bought another . Right now i use both line in to my zoom f8n or aes into my sd833. but this unit can run line in to any small recorders like a r05 or a sony a10 . Can also go into android or apple phones . i bought a couple apple se's.and have had good luck with them.

I'm a little late to this thread.. but I just got an SX-M2D2 and I'm looking forward to using it as a front end to my SD 633 via AES for a demonstration video of various wind/brass instruments

Testing it at home  on acoustic guitar and voice the improved level of detail is very noticeable.    Haven't tried it with iphone yet, but plan on it.
I'll be using it with schoeps, but I'm very interested in seeing how it sounds with ribbon mics as well.

I've seen a few Phish sources pop up using the M2D2 into SD Mixpre 6/10 recorders. Not being familiar with the SD units, are they going analog in to the recorders or are these capable of sending a digital signal via USB?

Maybe reach out to BigPerm as he runs this, more specifically for the Phish sources that you are seeing.

M2D2 is capable of sending audio over usb. I record on to an iphone7 but i dont think the mixpres can accept usb audio
