Topic: jb3 wall wort specs

I traded my jb3 and the wall wort that comes with it.  however i have another jb3 but lost the walwort.  does anyone have the specs on it?  thanks.

mine says thisoutput: 5V 1.5A

basically it just needs the 5v. the tip is the same as the sony ones. and most adaptaplug chargers come with this tip (usually the yellow one)

that is quite a difference in amperage output. i wouldnt think that a jb3 should be charged that fast. maybe it doesnt matter about these l-ion packs. i know almost nothing of l-ion batteries

most chargers for li-ion batts i've seen are 1amp. 

generic li-ion cells are

Max. Charging current: 1C ( 2.4A )

I tried to explain a lot of things to the manager at Rat Shack.  I said I need to power my mp3 player, b/c I sold my charger.
RS: *blink *blink
me: it will accept 4.5 volts, but 5 make it happy
RS: Do you know anything about electricity?
me: Yes
RS: Do you know anything about batteries

RS: What kind of battery does it take?
me: Lion, look I'll just get this.  Picks up 4.5 volt wall wort

me: (thinking) look man, I spend so much money in this store.  you sell second rate parts for prime, but your the only thing I have locally.  You are a manager, but do you have any idea of what's going on?  Don't try and hoodwink me about spouting off all kinds of mumbo jumbo.  I don't need a frickin cell phone, or 12 dozen crap batteires.  I just need to power my jb3 to charge up my batteries.

The amperage output makes no difference in charging time for the batteries.  The charge rate is controlled by circuitry internal to the unit.

You're right, this guy doesn't know what the hell he is talking about.  Yes, lithium can be very explosive, but in our consumer units they've taken more than enough precautions, they don't want to get sued.

you have to learn how to dance, that is the problem.
When they come up to you and ask you if you like to dance,
you reply that you are looking for some parts to help build your flux capcacitor.
Then you ask them if they have any intel network cards (which they never had)
Usually by this time, they are ready to go back behind the counter and watch
you very suspiciously. I like going into the shack and browsing.
I hate dealing with their crap. None of them have a clue about anything.
There was only 1 time I went into a shack and the guy was extremely helpful.
He was a soundguy for something so he knew what he was talking about.

This would be useful info if you were building your own charger.

Yeah, the rat shack guys are only useful for one thing--and that's getting help to find out where the parts are that you're looking for!
