All set now. I had to use another XP pro disc but it's working now. I just need to load a bunch of programs now. Oh well I'm still switching to a mac!

Yeah, I have toreinstall Norton Systmem works. Norton Ghost is on that. I guess I'll start using it.

delete the partition then create it again. will only let you do that if you boot to cd. if you boot to the c drive then it will not work.
you cannot delte the partition that is currently active..
