I have been trying to find a solution to to replacing the batteries in my oade m148. I can't find original 6v lead acid replacements. I did this one other time already. I tried to order a small 12v to 48v converter but got my $ returned.... I was hoping to run it on an external 12 lithium. Thanks for your advice.

I think Doug has converted some to an external battery option. You might reach out.

Check the Official Team 148 thread. Lots of info about battery sourcing, etc in there. I haven't worked on one in years so I have no idea what's available these days. It's been a long time!!!

Was going to throw your name out there. Helped me years ago! Ed

Have Doug do the External battery mod.

Then buy one these batteries.

I own a M148 with the above setup and I'm very happy.

Hope you’ve been well!

I'll have to put the guts back in and send it out.... I didn't realize he had a mod you could get easily.
How much run time have you gotten out of that battery?

Alot of "guts" in there. Changed those batts once. Crazy in there!! Not guts, but little 6v Batts and lots of wire and tape!

I have run it for 3-hour shows and it showed no dropped lights. Plenty of juice. I'll do a full test at home this weekend and report back here. I have Schoeps CMC 6 mk41 for the test.

Update from previous post.
I used the below TalentCell NB7101 (white) @ 19.5v setting this past weekend at Suwannee Rising festival. On Day 2, it powered the M148 from 3pm to 11pm., for a total of 8 hours straight without turning it off.
The battery only dropped 1 bar. :o There are 4 lit bars on this battery, so that's impressive. On Day 3, I got the exact same results.
I bet I could've run all weekend on 1 charge. That would've been 21 hours straight. If you get the mod on your M148, this is the battery you want.

Here's what the upgrade looks like inside.... Be sure to give yourself plenty of time if you do this. Some of my parts were backordered. It also take a while to get a talent cell now.

I'm sending my Brick back to Doug. I'm asking him to install a Hirose 4 pin power connector on the left side of the deck.
I run my Brick upright, but the DC power connector is mounted on the back. I never liked that location, nor do I like the connector itself. I always have it tape down. After this update, I'll have a secure connection. No more worries.
Note: Doug will add the Hirose connector only if you've had the Mod. He won't do it for Unmodded Bricks. fyi
