Here's an easy-squeezy no soldering power cable to go from
a 9.6V Race Car battery to a Hosa box.

All Parts from Radio Shack

Part 23-445 - 9.6V Battery Pack and RC Car Connector Repair Kit $2.99
(has two of the RC connectors with crimp on thingies)
you might want to throw some tape on after crimping, but
                these ended up pretty secure...

Part 273-1743 - Replacement Adaptaplug Socket $2.99
(to crimp n the end of the RC connectors, above)

Part 273-1706 - Adaptaplug C $4.99
(this is the one I chose, fits nicely.  bagtagsell says Adaptaplug B works as well)

crimp, connect and yer ready to go....

I'm sure this can be done cheaper or easier, but this worked for me.

Old threads never die...

I just did a few tests similar to the one first posted by action man.  I too built a 2x9v alky pack to power the 276 and through testing with two JB3s, two toslink cables and all running into a Wmod SBM-1 I too am seeing numerous drops outs preceded by a small zit.

The batts are all pretty full but the 9v could actually be operating at less than 8v.  Could this be a factor w/the 276?  I too am looking at a smaller power pack and may have to go to the RC 9v option.

I also did a test running batt box> analog > Line in to the JB3 and didn't get any of the affore mentioned drops or zits.  I'll test it with the other JB3 too but for now I'm thinking low voltage is an issue.

Thanks for comments.  I'm off to scan the archives :P

Did you test the Hosa with the wall-wart? Just curious...
