Sennheiser MKE 2 - Any opinion?
« on: October 12, 2006, 01:27:19 AM »
Does anybody on this site use the MKE 2? Is it good for stealth music (mainly classical) recording? How does it compare with the Sony ECM77? How vs the DPA 4060?
Schoeps MK4's ORTF, MK41 & MK8 M-S, DPA 4060's,
Schoeps KCY, Naiant Tinybox II, Self-Made Battery Box for DPA's
Sony PCM-M10, Tascam DR-2D, M-Audio Microtrack II

I use the MKE-2's that are wired up by Microphone Madness.  IMO they sound better than any lavalier in thier price point.  The DPA's are better, but not by much, i think...

As far as the stealth thing goes, there is not a smaller microphone made...  They are f-ing tiny..   I am not a fan of any of the Sony mics....
Neumann KM185mp OR DPA ST2015-> Grace Design Lunatec V2-> Tascam DR-100mkIII
