8th row center ORTF or DINA?
« on: February 11, 2005, 04:48:07 PM »
8th row center at local symphony hall. I'm wondering if this would be good for 461s ORTF or if I should run them or the 63s DINA. Here's a photo

Doesnt really look too close. Id probably run cards either way since you are so close, probably din or dina. I guess it really depends what you are taping, is it a rock band w/ a PA or an orchestra...

Thanks Alex - I should have mentioned the artist, and I definitely would put moe. into the rock category. :D

I would have liked to pulled 10th row, but this was the best I could do and get center. I was thinking that ORTF cards would be what I'll run since the room should sound awesome, but from the seat map it seems to be a bit close to the stage.

Ya, it seems a little close, but if you look at the picture, it actually looks pretty good. Cards ORTF would probably sound great.

Row P should be good. I sat in that row for a BFFT show last year. What do you run?

I'm a fan of DIN...a little wider seperation  :D  given the choice of card and hypers, I'd pick cards..If you have 2 sets, try din and ortf and then tell us which one you recommed  ;)  With 8th row maybe you can trade back to your desires position....just some food for thought.  have fun!

The last time I taped moe. I ran the 63s DINA and I was pleased with the results. I was furthur back and at a theater though (Taft Theater). I haven't run the cards ORTF yet, so that's another reason to give them a try. Thanks for the advice though. +T
