What do you do with all those old CDR's?
« on: January 03, 2010, 09:39:38 PM »

I have no idea where to post this topic...so if it needs to be moved, go for it!

I have spent quite a bit of time working to digitize my live CD collection. I ripped them, flac'd and created text files for ones I didn't have. These are all backed up on hard drive and DVD-R. The collection is catalouged.

My question is: If you've done this, did you keep all of your old and original CD-R's?

Offered them for freebies if someone paid postage, gave them to friends, or used them as coasters. As a last resort I just chucked them.

I gave them away at local shows...  Or I've dumped them in the "freebie" bin at the local record shop...

I did full spindle B+P's of discs.  Then I traded the spindles into a place that accepted stuff without a receipt, and I bought my first iPod.  Still kosher, I think.  No money exchanging.

i grab a handful from time to time, and send them off to Jason at Endless Boundaries radio.  Kinda cool to hear your stuff come up on Saturday night on his show.  I gave/give tons away to folks too, turning as many converts as I can.
When I send them to Jason, I make sure to mark the package "CONFIDENTIAL STD RESULTS ENCLOSED".

;D

Over this side of the pond, I know a radio DJ who isn't allowed to play anything except what the radio station tells him to.

This is, however a good thing, as he is the worlds number 1 Phil Collins fan.
