check your local thrift stores etc for an XP or Linux box used with a fresh reinstall and not a lot of extraneous programs.  Install freebee EAC and a new cd/dvd drive and a 2 g hard drive. When you're done, you can unload it for what you have into it, would doubt it would run you more than $150.

If your going to go that far - might as well download and install VortexBox...

Its a music server - but also has CD Paranoia as the ripping engine.

It will automatically rip, tag, and fetch cover artwork - just feed it CDs.

When one pops out - put in the next...

You can control the server and ripping from another machine on your network.

Also has a nice mp3/flac mirror function.

Nice find! Thanks for sharing!
Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.

When ripping cds, what are the pros/cons of embedding the album artwork into the files?

only con I know of is that embedding the artwork into each file takes up more space.
