I've had trouble burning downloaded shows with several free burners. Someone on this board recommended Nero.
Which Nero? Will Nero 5.0 do?
On Nero's site, they seem to sell only Nero Ultimate 6.0 -- a big package of many modules I don't need, including Burner -- which is priced at $69.
Nero 5 Burner, however, I found in a much smaller combo for $14.99.
All I want to do is burn CDs. Is Nero 5.0 what I need?

Nero 5 will do fine for burning CDs. Only reason I moved to 6 is to burn DVDs. And frankly, it seems to gobble waaaaay more CPU and to be waaaaay slower burning than the older version.

I just bought a copy of Nero Burner 5.5 on eBay for $4.95. Is that going to be as much of a hog as 6.0, or more like 5.0?

If you want 6, drop me a line.

i use 5.5, perfect set of apps to do exactly what you need and doesnt gobble up too much processor, i have plenty of extra to do whatever i want when im burning

also....if you just want to burn audio...you can download feurio, which is based off of nero, for free. it's pretty powerful. it's shareware, and is pretty cheap from what i remember.
but, again, it only does audio, no data.
