dmic has bnc out that you can easily convert to coax, then you would have to get a box to convert coax > optical. but it would work

you'd probably be better off running aes out to an aes > optical converter (hosa makes one) since the aes connection is a bit sturdier than the bnc out.

yep, the aes is on the back, so it would be REALLY easy to run mics>dmic>aes converter>optical>jb3!!!

no more damn cables up front ;)

If you're running AES out you want the ODL-312.  Best price I found was $56 shipped from Full Compass.  This price isn't published on their website, so give 'em a call.

The ODL-312 requires 9v external power and draws 50mA.  I power mine with a 9.6v 1600 mAH RC battery which'll run the thing for 25+ hours.  Check the Archival Info for a thread on some quality optical cable options.

I would avoid the converter box. I can cause problems. I got a ua-5 for my jb3 for just that reason. I only use the ua-5 as a/d

FWIW, the ODL-312 has proven bit-perfect in my V3 > AES/EBU > ODL-312 > JB3 setup.  Doesn't mean it will prove bit-perfect running out of the DMIC, but if the DMIC-20 has a solid AES/EBU transmitter I suspect it will.
