9.6V 2000mAh Energizer ER-DVD Mini?
« on: March 12, 2009, 02:45:29 PM »
I wonder if this battery makes a good match with any of the gear that we use?

Someone at the YS has paired it up with a Hosa ODL-276:

I know that the Wally World DVD batteries are better value, but since I don't live in the US, they are not as easy to find on the cheap. And the Wally World DVD is also heavier.
Maybe the Energizer has got enough juice to power a UA-5 for a show or two?
Anyone here using this for something else? Or are the specs nothing to write home about?

That domed hockie puck is what my local WalMarts replaced the Initial RB-270 battery with. Less than half the capacity for more than half the price and a weird-ass form factor that doesn't fit well in my bags are reasons enough for me still use the original wallyworld li-ion batt for running my equipment. As long as my original batts still hold a charge and replacements are available for under $15 shipped, I'll avoid that little round sucker.

I picked one up in my "newbie" days.  I actually hacked the cable as a back up for a ua-5 during festivals.  Never really had the chance to time test it.  Another problem is there is no indicator light.

FYI - These suck, it's just a bunch of 2100mAh rechargeable batteries in series or parallel or however they need to be to get 9.6 volts.  I have a few new in packaging that I would guess are 2-3 years old.  I bought them at a close out sale for a local store.  I ended up with 3 Wally World batteries that I use instead.  This thing is rather difficult to get situated since it is round and much bigger than a hockey puck.  The cable also isn't a standard Adaptatip end either, one prong is larger than the other to dummy-proof it so you don't accidently feed your DVD player the wrong polarity.
