Apparently, the brand is owned by German online retailer Thomann: http://www.thomann.de/gb/swissonic_mdr2.htm

Cheap ($129), but for the same money I could get a Hi-MD recorder, or throw in $30 and get a H120. I know what I'd take.  ::)
Not the quality we're used to, looks very plasticky, and the mics supplied are probably useless.
