Wearing a 722
« on: March 20, 2006, 11:36:18 AM »
I have recently done some taping with a Sound Devices 722 and a Jecklin Disk, finding it now very hard now to return to my R1.  Does anyone have a good brace/holster for wearing a 722, preferably under a sports jacket?

freelunch does.  hit him up if he doesn't respond here.
Tickets are dead to me.  Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost.  Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost.   And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost.  Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

Thanks, this is good for DIY.  I was looking for a prepackaged solution like Portabrace, but nothing seems to be ideal, I guess if you design it yourself at least you'll get something that fits. +T

No reason you couldn't do the same thing Ed is doing w/ the Portabrace, I just wouldn't run the extra pouch and maybe use a smallar strap w/o the big leather padded strip.

if you are planning to wear it under your arm beneath a sport jacket, you might want to look into some of the slings that are used for concealed carry of a handgun.  Those might give you an idea of what can be constructed.  Also, there are several companies that make clothing for concealed carry, including sport coats that are designed to hide an under arm holster.  One of those jackets could help you get the 722 in with less obvious buldge under your jacket. Of course, if venue security knows enough to look for one of those style of jackets, you might get extra scrutiny at the gate.
