when making an image, can i use high compression?
and if i back up to cdr and make it bootable, then i should be able to slam that puppy in the laptop, reboot, and everything should be restored, yes?

(providing i select the correct options upon boot)

Yes ... the only issue is if your image is bigger than the size of a CD. I know with the version of Ghost I have, I can't split the image across multiple CDs. Perhaps newer versions have this feature.

WooHoo! :clapping: I am a norton ghost wizard! i just used norton ghost 2002 and did the following:
1. made a image of my win2k partition and an image of my xp partition.
2. the 2k compressed to 1 cdr and xp compressed to 2 cdrs
3. then while holding my nuts in my left hand :hmmm: , i rebooted with the 2k image cdr, applied the ghost image, then while still holding my nuts, this time in my right hand, rebooted with the xp image cdr and then when it prompted for the 2nd cdr, inserted it.
4. then i removed the cdrs, rebooted and walah! back to original specs!
5. maybe it was my nuts? maybe not? it worked!
this means i shouldnt have to ever "reinstall the OS" bc i got the ghosts!
:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: yeah mama :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
