Post by: Neilyboy on August 11, 2009, 02:15:44 PM
Looks interesting you can charge it at home and use while charging.. For $13.50 shipped.

- High capacity build in polymer battery: 2600mAh
- Output voltage: 5.5V
- Output current: DC500mA
- AC 100V-240V
- Size: 120×73×10mm
- Estimate Charging time when under sunlight : 8-12 hrs
- When under USB or Home power : 3-4 hrs

Whats your thoughts? May be nice just as portable power source for our 5v recorders...

That's a good find. Even if the solar charging doesn't work all that well. It's worth it for all the power connectors and built in battery. Plus, it looks pretty cool.

Thats what I was thinking. I was not able to see what the dimensions are on the supplied tips but they look like they could fit the iriver h1x and h3x with the bottom right two tips.. either way for 13.50shipped you get a decent 5.5v power supply.. I may have to check one out...

It would be easy enough to make short adapter cables. Since it looks like the supplied adapters plug directly into it, making it awkward to use without the flexibility of a cable between the charger and the device it is connected to.

no you get that longer adapter cable that the ends fit into pictured there.. so you would be good to go.. it just has a usb-male on one end that slides into the battery and then a post-female end on the other that you can then slide those attachments into.. this thing is pretty much ready to go assuming the ends are the correct size..

If you get one, let us know how it is.
It's pretty cheap for a "ready to go" external battery.

FWIW, I noticed he is also selling smaller capacity 1500mAh, for $9.99 shipped.
I'd go with the higher capacity for $4.00 more.  ;)
