Title: Optical Out on PS3
Post by: rasta on March 01, 2008, 04:40:08 PM
Anybody using this for sound or is everyone on the HDMI?  Does the PS3 play burnt DVD-A?
Thanks

I use the optical out for sound but only because I am using component cables for video.
I'm no help on knowing if it can play burnt DVD-A.

I don't use optical anymore but I used to.  What's the question?

(And no idea about burned DVD-A either)

+T for those of you who responded.

If my integrated pre doesn't have HDMI what output would give better sound?  RCA or optical.  What's better?

Assuming you mean the stereo composite connectors, the optical connection will be better because it's digital and will allow for multi-channel audio.
