The first set of my Stockholm Syndrome@Richmond has a few spots of what sound like a CD skipping as it moves through a scratch.

I was recording through the analog line in. Had an MD patched out of my JB3...
Insights?
Hard drive? Power Supply?

its been stated that running analog in to the jukebox runs the risk of getting hard drive noises on it, its prolly just the HD spinning

Are the optical ins immune to this type of problem? It really sounds more like digital errors than anything bleeding into the analog stream...

i had a couple dropouts in an optical-in recording that sound like cd skips. i was not very happy about it, but at least there were 10 other tapers there. I don't know if it was my ADC or the JB3. I am waiting for the DAT or CD from the guy that was patched out or my SPDIF output to see if he had similar problems. If not, it could be because I ran the JB3 for 12+ hours straight that day.

You need to defrag the drive once in a while or you can get skips/pops.
Creative's site has the instructions how to get into service mode to do it.
There are several things that can causes problems, but if you've checked everything else defrag it.

i had reformatted my drive the night prior. I think my issue was rooted in the fact that I had been running it for so long in the hot oregon sun.

I was doing some testing at the house. When my cell phone rings the TV, radio ect will make clicking/digital noise.
I put my phone next to the JB3 & called it. Sure enough I got clicks in the recording.
Just FYI you never know that may have been the problem.

Ahhh...like maybe the barstaff had some of those little two way radios...or hell - cell phones?
