Title: Streaming a live SBD/AUD feed
Post by: achalsey on February 26, 2013, 12:21:18 AM
Anyone have any experience with this?  Can it be done easily?  How would you compensate for the time difference between sources?

Mike Salvo has done this a few times.  My guess is you are SOL with the time drift, unless you are recording onstage/stage lip where the drift is very minimal if nonexistent.

I think you would need a delay unit...and make the appropriate adjustment

Or, just make sure you don't run your room mics so loud that they (the delay) announce themselves.

Sometimes that delay can sound somewhat natural - as long as its not too loud. Kind of has an old time, live FM sound.

I set the delay on my Sound Devices recorder. If you are fairly close, nobody will notice anyway.

This. Onstage + SBD will need minimal delay as the PA hang is usually roughly in line with the stage lip.

Cool, thanks guys.  Onstage is usually an option so will probably try to go that route.
