been wondering the SAME thing jonny, looks hella suite tho

i trust firewire anyday over usb so this could be cool

right on man, i ordered it yesterday and it will ship ups          (i think ups) tomorrow, i can do a test as soon as i get it

hopefully this thing is bulletproof with my picturebook via firewire, then the vx pocket is outta here also

Well Dustin ordered the Firewire 410, not the Firewire Audiophile, right?  Two different animals.

i sure hope the firewire audiophile is bit perfect.  i've been using it as an interface between the V3 and the lappy for a couple months now and, if anything, it's much more stable than the 410.  if you're just looking to pass a 24 bit signal to your laptop, then the fw audiophile is the way to go, IMHO.

got a better solution.  take a dat, clone it.  then someone does a transfer using a known bit perfect source, you do a transfer using the audiophile, then put the wavs side by side

you only need to do about 20 minutes max.  that will probably be good enough

i don't have any way to make a DAT clone.  i'd be happy to send you or anyone else one of my masters to do a clone and transfer.  let me know.
