Well Dustin ordered the Firewire 410, not the Firewire Audiophile, right?  Two different animals.

i sure hope the firewire audiophile is bit perfect.  i've been using it as an interface between the V3 and the lappy for a couple months now and, if anything, it's much more stable than the 410.  if you're just looking to pass a 24 bit signal to your laptop, then the fw audiophile is the way to go, IMHO.

got a better solution.  take a dat, clone it.  then someone does a transfer using a known bit perfect source, you do a transfer using the audiophile, then put the wavs side by side

you only need to do about 20 minutes max.  that will probably be good enough

i don't have any way to make a DAT clone.  i'd be happy to send you or anyone else one of my masters to do a clone and transfer.  let me know.

If your talking about the 96/24 audiophile firewire I've been using one for around 9 months. I use it for a coax to firewire converter for my lap top when recording to 96/24, which is about all I record to these days.

I do use the aux sends on 1 and 2 and the headphone outs to monitor my mix from a sound board when working with bands doing sound.

For what I use it for it works well. However, make sure you get one with the latest software upgrade or down load it from M-audio's web site.

I maybe looking to move mine and would let it go cheap if the planets aline perfect. Offer me a price if you want it and I'll consider it.
