Removing Bass (wavelab) help needed!
« on: February 16, 2006, 09:40:30 AM »
Does anyone know how to reduce/remove a particularly heavy bass, recording?

Here is the gear used : AKG c480b > ck61 > Edirol UA5 > Sony TCD-D8

I normally bring the file into Wavelab, edit/track and normalize if needed.  But with this particular recording, the bass is 'too heavy' and I'm interested in applying an effect that reduces bass equally as the room was more the culprit than anything.

I use Wavelab, anybody explored this area before?

This was I came up with after a search of ts.com:

http://taperssection.com/index.php?action=search2  (not much here)

Thanks for anyone's help.

Go to the little box that pops up where you click on dithering except click on "effects"> click on the "1" > click on "vst"> click on "Q".
Another box will pop up and you'll see the dials which you can adjust to lower offending sounds.

EDIT:  suggestion worked well.  i normally don't edit the recording, just leave as is, but this was a specific request from a friend.  thanks again!
