Sonosax minir82 playback tweak?
« on: February 15, 2008, 04:31:42 PM »
Sonosax Minir82 User Manual  Soft revision 2.2.954

"Copy of Takes It is strongly advised to copy (transfer) the Takes carried out by the MINIR82 to the hard disc of a computer. The opposite is however not possible: the MINIR82 will not be able to read an audio file copied to its disc from a computer."

So, the thing is, I wonder if this can be overrided somehow. ?? :-\

Tried copying files to the minir and making txt files similar to those that the minir produces for files recorded.
Doesnt work, even if I match the sample-rate and all... Shows the format unknown message. Even for files recorded with the minir, copied to the computer and copied back.

But a wave is a wave. Or not?

I sure would like beeing able to playback some stuff recorded on my R4 without having to copy it over the digital input (yeah, extra cables AGAIN) while lets say traveling or similar.

Or.  ;) Or Not.  :'( You might want to Google the phrase "Resource Interchange File Format" or "wave file" to get an understanding what's involved. A hint from microsoft:

Quote
Wave files are in the Resource Interchange File Format (RIFF), which consists of a file header followed by variable number of "chunks," each made up of a header and data. The chunk header consists of a four-character tag identifying the type of data and a Long giving the length of the data.

... "variable" being the operative word here, this means that wave files can and do differ in the construction of their header info.
