Title: 8GB SD Flashcards
Post by: JD on October 06, 2006, 11:32:27 PM
What do you think the chances of these working with the R-09 are?
At $299 a pop, I think I'll wait for someone else to give it a try first.  ;D ;D ;D

I don't think there is much of any chance... its SDHC and not SD.

But I thought anything above 2 GB was SDHC?

The SD standard was supposed to stop at 2GB, but Transcend (and others?)
introduced 4GB cards that work in many (but not all) SD devices.

SDHC is the new standard that officially goes up to 32GB.  It's not
backwards compatible (that is, even though you can use an old
SD card in an SDHC machine, you can't use an SDHC card in an
SD machine.)

Pentax has released a firmware update for a couple of its cameras
with SD slots so they now can use SDHC cards.  This gives us hope
that other manufacturers can update firmware so we can use
SDHC cards in old SD machines -- are you listening, Edirol?
