i got an email today from someone at Aaton:

Quote
Bonjour damon,

Now that all portable audio recorders manufacturers have
finally shown their opus, IBC 2004 is the right place to
make feature for feature comparisons.

It's now very clear that Cantar features the best ever mike
preamplifiers in a battery-operated machine.

The latest additions are a unique playback scrub maintaining
intelligibility in fast-forward and reverse, and Monophonic
to Polyphonic conversion in the Mac/Pc Majax application.
Last but not least, Cantar gets TWENTY TWO HOURS of
continuous working out of its new twin Lithium battery
system.

The 'Cantar or Guitar?' hand positioning is now appearing
all around the world: just have a look at
www.aaton.com/gallery/on-location to see what we mean.

If you want to visit us at IBC, download the free entrance
ticket found at http://downloads.aaton.com/AATON_IBC2004.PDF
please paste the *exact* URL in your web-browser.

Aaton

i don't even know how they got my email or what some of that stuff means.

Having one of these would definately take care of the question of which mic was best
you could just use them all
they also say that the onboard battery system will last over 15 hours
I wonder if that is truly possible ???
