Title: Blue Ray audio playback
Post by: JackoRoses on February 18, 2009, 01:58:31 PM
I'm not even sure if that is the proper wording yet..
I'm wondering about how audio playback works on the blue ray players.
I see they natively support pcm so I am wondering can you just master a blue ray disc
like you would with a normal cd? Or is there a special way to burn the disc for it to play on
the blue ray player? (like dvd-a)

It probably isn't a huge deal anyway since I mainly stream all my music but I'm still curious.
I tried searching around for anyones experience with blue ray players and audio and didn't see too much.
I saw some articles about dts > wav and the such and found some blue ray players that will play DVD-A but if they play a blue ray disc with just .wavs wrote to it that would work for me but that seems to simple..

I would like to hear more about this topic, especially software for authoring a Blu-Ray disc.

It looks like Nero 9 has a plugin that supports Blu-Ray.
